OUR MISSION

Stucco and plaster are natural materials that can bring a look of beauty and tradition to the buildings that we expend great effort in creating. We specialize in smooth traditional stucco finishes and have a great appreciation for the natural product, our goal is it’s highest aesthetic and most sound implementation. Our team of artisans share this vision and our commitment to excellence.

THE MATERIAL

Stucco is a natural material. Its durability and low cost of maintenance are unsurpassed, a well implemented stucco system can last 50 - 80 years or longer. This results in long lasting beauty and resilience, reducing the environmental and economic impacts of replacing lesser quality exterior siding materials. Like all cementitious materials, stucco cracks. Our entire focus is to offer installation of this amazing product to the highest achievable quality. Our standard installation procedure is to implement a polymer enhanced smooth base with an embedded fiberglass mesh crack control system directly below the final visible coat. We do this over the entire stucco surface. The waterproofing element that protects the building lies beneath the stucco, meaning that cracks, atmospheric humidity, rain, and other sources of moisture in contact with the stucco itself do not translate to water entering the structural elements beneath. Surface coat crack management is a quality and aesthetic issue that is very important, it is not however a waterproofing issue.

We strongly suggest that our clients visit the buildings that inspired them to choose stucco and familiarize themselves with the organic and natural nature of the material.

There are chemically enhanced products available that offer advantages and help to minimize cracks by adding elasticity, and require less expertise to achieve a sound finish. Our team is very experienced and capable in the use of these products and we offer them, but we pride ourselves in the artisan level of skill we bring to the more demanding traditional materials.

OUR WARRANTY

We offer a 12 year warranty, any remainder of which is transferable to subsequent owners. This warranty covers the cost to repair any stucco that delaminates, bubbles, blisters, or peels away from the wall. Excessive cracking that is determined to be caused by faulty stucco installation is covered as well. A defective crack is generally one that is greater than the thickness of a credit card. Areas of excessive cracking that are not exemplary of sound application are covered as well.

COMMON ISSUES THAT CAN OCCUR

There are certain problems that can occur with stucco that we cannot control, such as improper clearance of dirt and debris from the bottom edge stucco. Discoloration or damage occurring from dirt or material too close to stucco, landscape irrigation that consistently brings moisture into contact with stucco, and other damage caused by improper site conditions is not covered by our warranty.

Structural settling is another problem that can cause adverse effects and cracking in stucco. In situations where the actual structure has moved, causing a fracture in our stucco system, our warranty does not cover repair.

We are here to offer the highest level of service and support possible and we hope that our clients take pride in the buildings we help to create.
